Eye Specialists
Ophthalmologists consult in the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions. Services they provide include vision services, eye exams, and medical eye care for conditions such as glaucoma, iritis and chemical burns.
Their expertise extends to surgical eye care for trauma, crossed eyes, cataracts, glaucoma, and other problems. Additionally they may provide plastic surgery for drooping eyelids and smoothing wrinkles.
They are different from optometrists and opticians, mostly in their level of education and the ability to diagnose and treat various eye and vision problems. Eye specialists can not only prescribe glasses to correct your vision but also treat and diagnose other eye diseases and vision problems.
