What is cellulite?

Cellulite is a cosmetic issue caused by fatty deposits that form underneath the skin.

This causes dimples and a lumpy appearance. This is usually most noticeable on the buttocks and thighs.

Cellulite Causes

Diet. Those who eat too much fat, carbohydrates or salt are more at risk of developing more cellulite.

Lifestyle. Smoking can cause cellulite to be more prevalent. As well as not exercising or standing/sitting in the same place.

Genetics. Some people just have genes which are predisposed to cellulite development. Some characteristics such as gender or a slow metabolism can have an effect as well.

How do you get rid of it?

The medical community's advice is this:

If you're overweight then losing weight is the best way of dealing with cellulite.

Still, cellulite is normal in those of all shapes and sizes. But you will start to notice a difference with a healthy diet and exercise.

Exercise helps with fat loss and firms up underlying muscles. This helps to improve its appearance.

If exercise and diet are not enough, you can enquire about Alidya which aims to treat and prevent cellulite.

Alidya

Alidya is an injectable substance that dissolves cellulite. It can be applied on any area developing cellulite. Alidya aims to dissolve the fat responsible for cellulite. It also tightens some of the fibrous tissue to give a slightly smoother looking skin.

Procedure

The treatment is a non-surgical and minimally invasive. A topical anaesthetic cream may be applied over the affected area. Then Alidya is injected into the dermal layer or into the subcutaneous tissue. Small punctures at a depth of no more than 5 mm.

Injections are performed with a thin needle and are almost painless.

The active agents in Alidya attack causes of cellulite at tissue-level. Such as:

  • unsatisfactory microcirculation,
  • deposited toxins, and
  • tissue damage

By treating the cellulitic area Alidya enhances the structure of the skin. This results in a smooth, tighter, cellulite-free skin.

Any side effects?

Alidya itself has no side effects. Any side effects that result are from the injection procedure. Such bruises will go away on their own over time.

Procedure schedule

Treatment can be repeated up to 5-12 times every 7-10 days. Till you see the benefits. Or to get the best possible result.

One session usually lasts around 30 minutes.

Lasting results should be visible within 2-3 months. Your dermatologist may suggest maintenance injections to keep the results attained. They might programme an annual treatment schedule for you when required.
